Botswana. A country the size of France with a population of only two million and nearly 40% of the country being devoted to wildlife management, makes Botswana a true African story. From the dry Kalahari in the South, to the wild Chobe National Park, to the wetlands of the Okavango Delta, Botswana offers incredible species diversity protected by gentle people who embrace eco-tourism as the future of their economy and country.

In Botswana its customary to refer to the gender of the person you are greeting. When saying hello to a man you say “Dumela Rra” and to a woman its “Dumela Mma”. When shaking hands, handing over or receiving an object (money in a shop for example) it’s also customary to touch your right elbow with your left hand when doing so.

Day 1 - 6 in Kasane

Chobe National Park is a bird-watchers paradise and renowned for its huge elephant herds

ARRIVAL IN KASANE. GET CLOSE TO NATURE

After pick up from Kasane Airport, you’ll be met & transferred to your hotel in Kasane.

CHOBE WILDLIFE

Chobe National Park is a bird-watchers paradise and renowned for its huge elephant herds, many of which number hundreds of individuals. In total, it is estimated that there are around 110,000 elephants living within the park’s boundaries. Buffalo are equally numerous, and the park is also famous for its healthy population of lions.

The Chobe River is the natural border between Namibia and Botswana. The Chobe is unique in that it flows in both directions at different times of the year depending on the flood in the mighty Zambezi with which is converges a few kilometres further downstream.

SAFARI STAY 4* (DAY 1 – 6)

The hotel where you’ll be staying in Kasane, has an innovative and captivating structure.
Each of the fourteen rooms provide plenty of surface (for cameras, laptops and charging points etc) They are all en-suite and air conditioned with safe and tea/coffee making facility.
Included: Daily breakfast, lunch & dinner, 6 photography activities, boat trips. In the afternoon you are free to relax, take a nap or swim in the pool.

Day 2 - 3 - 5 Photography @ Chobe River

A wildlife photography safari that allows you to experience evenings under the stars and enjoy close encounters with all the wild animals’ nature has to offer on this African holiday

You have the choice of capturing animals in the wild either by boat or safari vehicle on one of African Hideaways adventures

CAPTURING WILDLIFE

The river is Chobe-region’s heartbeat, providing a year-round source of water for the multitude of animals and birds that call the park home. Its fertile floodplains combine with the grasslands, mopane woodland, and thick scrub in other areas of the park to create a patchwork of habitats that together provide shelter for one of the greatest concentrations of game on the African continent.

It is possible to see the ‘BIG5’ here, although the rhino is increasingly difficult to find. The Chobe River constitutes the ideal habitat for water-dependent animals, including hippos, Nile crocodiles, waterbuck, and the near-threatened red lechwe antelope!

Each day, early mornings at sunrise, you’ll start your first photography activity, either by boat or safari vehicle. After a well-deserved breakfast, your day is to spend at leisure. Before a well-deserved undowner and dinner, you’ll be doing a 2nd round of photo sessions. 100% guarantee that you will capture wildlife floating on the river, flying above or grazing on the mainland.

Day 4 Tour of The Falls, Victoria Falls Zimbabwe

On day 4, a full day-trip to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) is included.

The ‘Victoria Falls’ constitute one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The local people call it “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, the smoke that thunders. Its a waterfall in southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

At night, you’ll return back to the hotel in Kasane!

On day 6 after breakfast, depending on your departure time, our driver will meet you at reception to take you to Kasane Airport, 2 hours prior to check-in for your flight.

Alternatively, you can ask us for any extension of this trip into the Okavango Delta. Or you can opt crossing borders for a trip-extension in Namibia or South Africa.
