After your arrival at Maun Airport, we will transfer you by shuttle to the lodge. The day is yours to explore the vibrant town of Maun, set on the banks of the beautiful Thamalakane River. Maun is the starting point for most expeditions into the Okavango Delta and as a result has developed into a bustling metropolis. Perhaps take a trip on the river on the renowned riverboat or by traditional Mokoro boat, or visit the Nhabe Museum exhibiting the local history, art and culture of the Ngamiland region.
A HAVEN FOR THE NIGHT
A secluded haven of tranquility nestled in a grove of mature riverine trees on the bank of the Thamalakane River. The lodge has an idyllic setting. All chalets and common areas have terraces that take advantage of the serene 180-degree view of the riverbanks and wildlife.

HEADING INTO THE DELTA
After breakfast and a little leisure time, the shuttle transfer will take you to Maun Airport for your charter flight into the Okavango Delta.
A World Heritage Site, the magnificent Okavango Delta stretches over 15,000 km2. The Okavango River sprawls out over the dry sands of the Kalahari Desert forming a flourishing waterlogged oasis featuring countless meandering waterways and crystal-clear lagoons. Enjoy any number of activities such as game viewing, fishing, bird watching or taking an authentic guided Mokoro excursion through this wetland paradise in a traditional dugout canoe. Look out for lion, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hippos, elephants and crocodiles!
ISLAND IN THE DELTA
The coming 2 nights you’ll stay at this luxury lodge, situated on a wooded island abutting a lagoon. The lodge takes full advantage of its magnificent site. The thatched common area, comprising cocktail bar, lounge and curio shop, is still the original building from 1974. It’s the perfect setting for a Mokoro trip in an eco-friendly dugout canoe. The peaceful boat-ride back during a spectacular African sunset provides a lifelong memory.

UP CLOSE IN THE WILD
Today you’ll travel into the wild – twice! Traditionally, safari activities are often geared around dawn and dusk; the best time of day for game sightings and also the coolest. This means the heat of the day is your leisure time to relax and siesta back in camp. An early wake up might not feel like your idea of a holiday at the time… but trust us that these early morning activities are often the setting for your most thrilling wildlife sightings! With two excursions into the Delta there is ample chance to see any of the big game animals the area is famed for.
Full board Safari ActivitiesOn day 4, after a last sunrise activity and a well-deserved breakfast, you'll be transferred back to the landing strip and take the charter flight back to Maun Airport for your onward journey.
